In the way you decided to leave me out,
You took away any lingering doubt I may have had in my clout,
There was so much I was always so self-assured about,
But as it turns out, self-assurance is worth nothing more than a vain shout.
In the way you stepped in,
I could clearly see the ways in which I sunned,
I heard, louder than ever, the din,
I felt the rigour of my too oft-repeated routine,
And now, I swim in the clarity of all I have seen.
Yours in uncertain perpetuity,
Evans Mbora Campbell.
